Surrey Police’s Community Events Team brings together 15 enthusiastic and dedicated Police Support Volunteers, who contribute to the Force’s community engagement activity by representing Surrey Police at community events across the county.
At each event, the team spends time with people of all ages to promote the work of Surrey Police and to provide information and advice on a wealth of topics such as crime prevention and personal safety. They also help to promote recruitment opportunities by encouraging people to consider volunteering and by giving information on what it is like to work for the Force as an officer or a member of staff.
The well-established team attend numerous community events across the year and are real advocates of Surrey Police. They are sometimes supported by Special Constables and regular officers but are well-equipped, in terms of knowledge and resources, to manage any event on their own.
