National Crime Agency Specials

The National Crime Agency leads the UK’s fight against serious and organised crime.

At the NCA we’ve been inspired by the success of the Special Constabulary in policing. Building on this success, we too enhance our workforce through the use of volunteer crime-fighters, which we call ‘NCA Specials’.

But while police Special Constables traditionally provide general support to their Force, NCA Specials are recruited because of their specialist, niche expertise and skills that are rarely available within law enforcement, but that are of huge value in the fight against serious and organised crime.

Current areas of expertise among our NCA Specials include:

·         Cyber security

·         Financial markets

·         Specialist forensic accountancy

·         Academia

·         Language skills

·         In-depth cultural awareness

NCA Specials is an attractive volunteering opportunity for people with specialist skills and enables us to harness the contribution of civic‑minded individuals in our work.

As with all of our officers, NCA Specials are crime fighters, wholly committed to cutting serious and organised crime.

Due to the nature and sensitivity of the work completed by the NCA and the levels of intelligence accessed, high standards are expected of individuals who wish to work, for or with the NCA. This standard is often higher than many other organisations.

If you’re interested in volunteering as an NCA Special please email a CV and covering letter tonca.specials@nca.x.gsi.gov.uk.
