We are looking to build on the fantastic first year of the re-introduced Cadets scheme within the force, and are looking for volunteers from all walks of life with the following skills and experience:
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability
- The ability to lead, team-build and maintain discipline
- The confidence to plan and deliver sessions
- Good IT skills
- The ability to support a dynamic and diverse team including volunteers, in the achievement of both local and corporate objectives
Ideally you will also have experience of:
- Delivering curriculum based training
- Youth based work
You should be able to regularly volunteer your time primarily on term-time weekdays once a week during the late afternoon / early evening, and there may also be limited ad-hoc sessions during school holidays and weekends.
You don’t have to work for West Midlands Police in order to become a Volunteer Cadet Leader – if you are enthusiastic and have the right experience and skill-set, we would love to hear from you.

Volunteers cannot start to give their time until they have been security & DBS cleared; a thorough vetting process is in place for all volunteer roles.

The cadet leader roles are for locations around the West Midlands including in Birmingham, Coventry, Sandwell, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall and Solihull.
